Looking for a compact stroller ?: we tried the Bugaboo Bee 3

When you are not a father you can not imagine what it can mean to buy a baby carriage ... you practically have to do a detailed market study to choose which one is the best for price, quality and functionality.

In our case and after evaluating several options, we were clear that the one that best suited our needs was the Bugaboo Bee 3, a ride car that can adapt a carrycot and therefore it serves you from birth to about 3 years of age (or 17 kg.). As my baby is still very small and we have not gone to the chair, I will dedicate this first post to talk about the carrycot, since it is one of the most important features and why many parents probably decide to buy it (or not) .

The car that I show you is the Van Gogh model, which is characterized by replicating the work "Almond blossom" by the famous painter. This is a special edition, but there are many styles that you can adapt to your tastes, since it has 4 models of carrycot, 4 colors of chair covers and 6 colors of hood.

The first thing I must say is that first of all, this is a light car (It weighs approximately 8.7 kg.), and is not as large as the mythical Bugaboo Cameleon. That is precisely why it is very easy to maneuver even on slopes, an important issue if you live in a city or area where there are, as is my case.

The most compact carrycot there is

One of the things I liked the most was the carrycot: It is not rigid (which makes it almost completely disassembled), it does not weigh, it is safe and also very comfortable, since the walls are made of a padded material that is also breathable and washable and the surface is quite fluffy ... the naps that my daughter does there have also confirmed it.

Your design too it adapts quite well to the station we are in: It can be closed enough to protect the baby and see only the face through the cover that covers the body (it opens and closes through a zipper), and the extensible hood that reaches almost halfway through the carrycot, or it can open to expose and prevent heat from passing.

To the top I have found three advantages: one that has SPF50 protection, a vital issue for a baby's delicate skin. Another is that you can close it and open it only from the side for comfort (for example, if the sun gives you the right side, I can close it on that side and leave the left open so that the baby can continue to look out. The third It is exclusive to this design, because when it is sunny and I raise the hood, the light sneaks and my baby loves to see the figures that are drawn through it.

Perhaps the only drawback I can put is the size, since it measures 75 cm in length, which can make the baby stay small before moving to the stroller. The other option may be to use the baby's nest bag.

A design that makes it more practical

The chassis is made of very light aluminum, its handlebar has adjustable height and the shopping basket is quite wide (22 l.). The wheels on the other hand are made of rubber, are filled with foam and also have independent suspension, which makes it slide smoothly despite the irregularities of the ground.

The folding is the simplest: you simply remove the carrycot by pressing a button on each side and then fold the chassis with a click. The photo that I show you at the top is the way I carry it in the trunk of the car, although as the carrycot walls are not rigid, they can be folded inwards (it does not deform, I assure you), to occupy less space.

In conclusion I will tell you that I am very satisfied with this car and that I would definitely repeat... well, actually the carrycot after several months of use is like new, so if I decide to expand the family I will not have to buy. I promise to tell you my impressions when I try it as a stroller.

Have any of you tried it? Which one did you choose at the time?
