Carrot cake. Recipes for the whole family

Today we are going to make a carrot cake, a recipe for the whole family that you can enjoy both at breakfast and at snack time. It is a sponge cake with a wet texture that everyone will like with its light glaze coverage.

The day I tried carrot cake for the first time, I loved discovering how the sweet taste of the carrot looks so good in spongy format and I became addicted to this recipe. Today I tell you how to do it easily so you can enjoy it at home with your family.

Ingredients for 6 people

  • 250 g of grated carrots, 200 g of olive oil, 200 g of sugar and 200 g of flour, 10 g of Royal chemical yeast, 4 eggs and a pinch of cinnamon
  • For the glaze, 1 egg white and 50 g of glass sugar

How to make carrot cake

We start by peeling the carrots and grating them to obtain the fundamental ingredient of the cake. After mix the rest of the ingredients, beating well. Add a touch of cinnamon and mix patiently until you get a more or less homogeneous dough.

We line a baking dish with sulfurized paper and put our dough inside. In the preheated oven at 190º for about ten minutes, we put the source and let it Cook until you have formed a sponge cake with some tuft as you see in the photo. The exterior has to look very golden.

In carrot biscuits you have to watch because the trick of putting a skewer does not work as in other biscuits because it has the wettest interior. Calculate some 40 minutes of baking for these quantities, depending on each oven.

When the cake is cold, can be decorated with a simple glaze. We beat 1 egg white with 50 g of glass sugar and with a fork we spread the mixture on the surface forming irregular drawings.
