Today I want to share with you a tender news happened in Galicia that I find interesting for two reasons: because it is a home birth and for the naturalness with which a child of just 6 years has attended a birth.
The story is like this: it happened 20 days ago in O Carballiño when six days before going out of account the child's mother felt a nuisance. Remaining importance dressed his son to go to school and prepared breakfast.
He immediately realized that it was not just a warning and that the baby would arrive at any time. He broke waters without giving him time to leave home because he noticed that his head was almost out.
I imagine that in this situation it is difficult for anyone to maintain serenity, both for the mother and the companion. However, the amazing thing was the reaction of the boy who told his mother about the imminent arrival of his sister "If she wants to be born, let her be born, mom."
And that's how José officiated as a midwife to help his sister Lucia be born.
I believe that beyond the anecdote, although I have my personal objections about home birth, the naturalness of this child (or perhaps his unconsciousness) makes us reflect on the artificiality with which a physiological fact is usually taken such as childbirth.
